# murmur secret unmount

> Stop delivering one of your own secrets to the VMs you spawn; the secret itself stays stored.

Removes the mount for one of your own [secrets](/catalog/user-secret), so VMs you spawn from now on no longer receive it. The secret itself stays stored. Delete it with `murmur secret rm --user <LEAF>` if you no longer need it. A secret that is still mounted cannot be deleted, so unmount it first.

## Synopsis

```

## Arguments

| `LEAF` | string | yes | The name of the mounted secret, as listed by [`murmur secret mounts`](/cli/secret-mounts). |

## Output

A confirmation line on stderr:

## Examples

## Errors

| Code | Meaning | What to do |
| - | - | - |
| none | `no mount for secret "<LEAF>"` | The secret is not mounted. Check with [`murmur secret mounts`](/cli/secret-mounts). |
| none | ``caller owns no user namespace, so it has no user secrets — sign in as a developer, or use `murmur secret` for tenant secrets`` | Sign in as yourself with [`murmur login`](/cli/login). |
| none | `update your secret mounts: your user record changed twice while writing; try again` | Re-run the command. |
