murmur suggest-terminate

Raises a termination suggestion on an agent, or withdraws one with --clear. The typical caller is an agent flagging itself when its work is done: on a VM, run the command with no slug. What a suggestion does depends on the agent’s suggest-terminate mode:

Mode	Effect
`suggest` (default)	Advisory only. The dashboard shows a delete button next to the agent’s slug, with the reason as a tooltip. A person decides whether to kill the agent.
`immediate`	The server terminates the agent at once, the same way `murmur kill` does. No delete button is shown.

The mode resolves in this order: the per-spawn override (murmur spawn --suggest-terminate-mode), then the workspace’s suggest_terminate_mode, then the suggest default.

Synopsis

murmur suggest-terminate [flags] [slug]

On a VM, the slug is optional. If you omit it, the command flags the current agent.

Arguments

Name	Type	Required	Description
`slug`	string	on laptop	The agent’s slug, a child path, or an absolute path. Optional on VMs (defaults to self).
`--reason`	string	no	Reason shown in the dashboard. At most 280 bytes. Ignored with `--clear`.
`--clear`	bool	no	Withdraw a previously raised suggestion. Default: `false`.
`--json`	bool	no	Print the `SuggestTerminateResponse` as JSON instead of the text line. Default: `false`.
`--workspace`	string	no	Workspace name. Overrides the value from `murmur.yaml`.

Raising or clearing a suggestion requires agent.delete on the agent, the same permission as murmur kill, in either mode.

<slug> reads self when the slug was omitted on a VM.

Errors

Code	Meaning	What to do
`NOT_FOUND`	No agent with that slug exists.	Check the slug with `murmur ls`.
`PERMISSION_DENIED`	You lack `agent.delete` on the agent.	Ask for a role that grants `agent.delete`. See authorization.
`INVALID_ARGUMENT`	`reason exceeds 280 byte limit (<N> bytes)`	Shorten the reason.
`INVALID_ARGUMENT`	`reason contains control character <U+XXXX>`	Remove control characters. Newlines are allowed.
`UNAUTHENTICATED`	Identity token is missing or expired.	Run `murmur login`.
